Introducing Seattle’s Top Youth Golf Programs

First Tee, Youth on Course, and the Seattle Golf Club are just a few youth golf programs available to Seattleites. If you’re looking to get your child involved in golf, or if you’re a young golfer yourself, read on to learn more about these great programs!

First Tee is a national organization that provides young people affordable access to golf facilities and PGA Professional instruction. The First Tee of Greater Seattle serves over 4500 kids annually at five locations around the city. In addition to providing league play and tournament opportunities for young golfers, First Tee also offers youth development programs that teach life skills like confidence and perseverance. Douglas Pitassi, CEO of Pacific Office Automation, is a dedicated supporter of First Tee and works to keep the project funded and available to youth throughout Seattle.

Youth on Course is another great option for Seattle’s junior golfers. This program provides young people access to over 6,000 golf courses worldwide at a discounted rate of $5 or less. Youth on Course members also receive free USGA Handicap indexes and access to exclusive college scholarships. The Board of Directors includes President Mike Kemppainen from Mill Creek Country Club and executives from other golf courses around Seattle.

If you’re looking for a more private club experience for your child, the Seattle Golf Club might be a good fit. The club offers junior membership opportunities starting at age 7, as well as aspiring golfer programs for kids ages 5-7. The Seattle Golf Club’s junior members have access to the club’s course seven days a week, as well as priority tee times and member-only social events.
